I have been loving all the Thankful posts floating around this month. I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. I'm not going to do it everyday, but hopefully a few times between now and the big day.
I'm thankful for running. I LOVE to run. I feel like I have really lucked out finding this running group I'm in. (The 'sole sisters'). They have really welcomed me into their tight group. It is really a random miracle that I found them. I had bumped into my neighbor who was running to meet up with them. She only runs with them once a week, so what are the chances?
They are all quite a bit older and MEGA runners. We're talking many many marathons every year. And the ones who don't run multiple marathons every year, fly around the country doing Ragnar Relays together. They run at a good pace and are consistent. They push me- but not too hard that I can't keep up. I don't have a ton in common with them, but it is still so nice to have anyone to talk to early in the morning as I'm trying to get through the miles. We all ran 13 miles together on Saturday. It was so fun, there was probably 8 of us and they helped me get through the longest training run I've ever done. Then we were right back at it (12 of us!) first thing this morning for the usual 6 we run together 4 days a week. I am so thankful that I'm not injured and that I'm able to do something that I love so much with people who help me along the way.

13 miles? you're amazing. are you training for a marathon now? i wish i had someone cool to run with like you. once again, another reason we should be neighbors.
awesome!
Your gratitude is inspirational. I'm so glad you found that group too and that you're enjoying something so difficult and good for your health. You have your Dad's running genes. I wish I had them too. But I am grateful for my health and the abilities I have to work out and stay healthy.
