My mom decided to come last week when I had pneumonia. Dave couldn't go to work since I couldn't get out of bed for a few days. So my awesome mom flew out to help me with the kids.
Before she came, I had a few awesome friends who had my kids over to play and brought me dinner. It was a lifesaver. My mom is such a fun grandma. My kids just love when she's here.
And after a few days of her being here, I was able to put on clothes and make up and get out of the house once in a while. Here we are getting some frozen yogurt with the kids.
Quinn had back to school night. Me and Dave both went with her (without Veda and Hendrix) which was so fun since we don't have one on one time with both of us very often!
We played at the mall.
and played in the backyard
And went to lunch
And my mom was able to go back to the doctor with me. Even though I was doing a lot better, I was having a lot of pain in my lungs, so I went back to the doc to check it out. We did a breathing treatment and I was given an inhaler and cough medicine (on top of my already 2 antibiotics). Pneumonia is no joke!
My mom cooked and cleaned and cleaned some more. She's so awesome.
We went for a walk together one night. I even tried running (like 1/4 mile) :)
Then Quinn had her first day of school!! It was AWFUL!!! She cried a LOT and her teacher had to hold her back as I walked away. So sad.
A morning at IKEA
ice cream!
We went to yoga with a couple of great friends.
We tried out a new mall in Austin we had never been to before. They had a Lego store - which my kids obviously loved.
Sweet grandma got them a cookie to eat on the way home from the mall.
playing with new Legos
And we went to the pool!
The last night my mom was here Dave had a soccer game. She babysat so I was able to go. I never get to see Dave play, so it was great. We made a date of it and got some ice cream afterwards.
It was so fun to have my mom here. I don't know how I would have done it without her. I am doing better every day -- although still not 100%. I'm not sure when I will feel ALL better... but that's going to be a great day. I had to cancel my first half marathon that's in a few weeks since I won't be able to run it. (Hopefully the rest of my racing schedule won't be affected.) I have felt so much love and support while being sick, I am blessed to have awesome friends and siblings and a loving mother who help me. It's so nice to be feeling better. And it was great to be able to do some fun things with my mom before she left. She is coming for my birthday, so I get to see her again soon. Is it too soon to count down again? ;)

Your mom is the best! Man I'm sad you're still feeling it from the pneumonia. No joke for real!
Ah! it looks like a blast (minus the sick part). I'm so glad your mom got to come help you out, and that you were able to venture out together while she was there. I was just thinking about Amberfest the other day. Weird. It's never too soon to count down!!! I love that picture of Quinn and Dave walking together. So darling. How fun that you were able to go, just the three of you!
i'm glad you're feeling better, Am. I am also glad your blog isn't dead. I thought it to be dead. And I was sad because its the only way I know what you kats are up to since Dave is too busy to chat these days. :)
I'm a bad blogger lately. But I'm happy you still check my blog -- just in case. Now you need to get Leslie blogging so I can see what YOU guys are up to
I was also wondering if I should start count down!!
