Just Quinn

I didn't have any new pictures from today to post, so I thought I'd put up some from this last week that were super cute but didn't make the blog.

Amber Fest begins...

My sweet husband surprised me this morning with a big start off to Amber fest! He hung up this big sign and put balloons all over. Everyday I have to pop a balloon and there is a code in it which determines which present I open that day. How creative is he?


Quinn had a blast chasing the balloons around the family room. They are pretty hard for her to get her little hands on!

Don't worry--she was okay. Normally I don't let her just wear a onesie and tights, but she got away before I could get her skirt back on after her diaper change!

New favorite toy?

On my way home today Quinn started getting bored in her car seat. After handing her every toy I had in the front seat, I handed her my Propel bottle. When we got home she didn't even want to get out of the car!! Getting out meant that she had to let go of her new toy. Once we came in I put her in her high chair and handed her the water bottle...still happy. She sat there playing contently for 20 minutes. Right this very minute she is on the floor still playing with it. The things that bring babies joy. Forget Christmas presents, she's getting a six pack of Propel!

Tights and boots

I don't know if it is quite cold enough for tights and boots, but I couldn't help myself. Thanks Aprill, for helping me spot these boots--they are super cute on Quinn!

Quinn learned that if she leans back as far as she can go the tray comes off....

And it is much easier to chew on if it's off.

Getting around

Man, if she wants something she'll go get it. Meaning if there is paper or boxes, or anything else twice her size she'll go get it. I know it's too late for any of you to believe me since I've put up so many pictures--but I swear I clean my house. It just happens when I take pictures it is cluttery. Oh well.

New pose

Quinn started laying like this a lot. Sort of in between rolling over--taking a break maybe? It's funny though. And those of you who had bald babies--you never have to worry about nap time ruining their hair. Her's is a mess sometimes after a nap. I think the problem today is that she didn't nap, she just cried. That gave her a lot of time to roll around in her crib madly messing up her hair.

I think she loves to not wear clothes. Getting her diaper changed or clothes changed are her LEAST favorite things to do. Sometimes we give her a break...plus, what's better than a cute baby in a diaper?

Bananas?

I'm afraid we might have quite the picky eater on our hands. We let her hold a banana, but there was no way she was eating it. She doesn't like applesauce, pears, peaches, rice cereal, oatmeal, or bananas. Hopefully one day she'll like it all!

Sunday Walk

We went for a nice Sunday walk today. It has gotten chilly so Quinn had to bundle up. This is a great shot of her cute little teeth!

FYI...

After speaking to a couple of you I realized that I needed to tell you that I was KIDDING about the apple picture. She was sucking on it, but she didn't 'eat' it...ha. She made some pretty good teeth marks where she was trying to gnaw at it, but I can't get her to eat one bite of baby food, so an apple would be a bit much! i'm happy to know that some of you think my baby is that amazing.

Half Birthday Party!!

Quinn had her first half birthday yesterday! Happy six months! We decided (well....I guess I decided) to celebrate! I made her a cute 'half cake' and we had Jake and Kelsey over to help us celebrate. Too bad Quinn couldn't have any cake. And no...we didn't do Quinn-fest, that would just be CRAZY.

Poor Baby

Quinn is six months old!! I can hardly believe it. She had her check up yesterday--she weighs 12 lbs. 15 oz. and is 25 inches long. She's getting big huh? She did pretty well with her shots--she didn't even cry when they gave her the first one. She's not too happy today though. We've been having some nursing issues and I've made her a little sick! Plus her sore legs from her shots...what a day! Hopefully she'll be all better tomorrow.

Reach

Quinn loves the tag on the Bobby pillow. I swear she'll take a couple of rolls away from it just so she can scoot back to it again.

Here she is practicing sitting up. She will roll out of the pillow after a few minutes--she would much prefer to be on her stomach!

yeah! Sweatshirt season!

It's finally chilly enough for a sweatshirt!! Here's Quinner looking cute in my favorite sweatshirt and cute jeans from Grandma Stevens!

Quinn scooting

Here's a video of Quinn scooting along. As you can tell it was first thing in the morning! I had just changed her diaper, but she had rolled away before I could finish snapping her back up. She is scooting along pretty good now! We just love her sleepy face--she always looks so cute right when she wakes up.

All dressed up

Here's a picture we took of Quinn before church yesterday. She just looked too cute in her new dress. I love her little tights and shoes! You can tell Dave is taking the picture by how big her smile is--he always seems to get her to smile like she's the happiest baby in the world!

Nose scrunch

All day Quinn has been scrunching her nose. She looks mad in this picture, but usually when she's done it she has been happy. We just couldn't quite catch it on camera!

No naps

Quinn decided today wasn't a great day for naps, so we've had a lot of time to play! I reorganized her closet (any of you who have seen her closet know what a job that is!!) The rest of the day I've just been trying to keep her busy. This is what I do when I want to keep her distracted for a while. Bumbo seat with a comb, spoon, and binkie. None of them are actually 'toys' but boy does she like them!

Soft toys

This morning we were practicing sitting up, so I thought I would gather her soft toys so it wouldn't hurt as much when she toppled over. Funny how most of them are pink bunnies. She thought it was pretty fun to be on top of all of those toys!

smart baby

Quinn is getting good. I set her down for a minute in the family room and went into the kitchen for a minute. By the time I had gotten back, she had rolled over to the basket of toys and tipped it over to get the toys out. All while holding her trusty comb.

She likes it!!...kind of

The other day I was eating an apple and I let Quinn suck on it. She seemed to like it, so I thought I'd give her some applesauce so she'd recognize the flavor. It went pretty well--at least better than any other solid we've tried!

Here she is seeming unsure and going cross-eyed to keep her eyes on the spoon.

Most of the time she would have rather suck on the bib. Oh well. At least she looked cute. Look at those cute feet!

Quinn's first runny nose

Here's Quinn looking beat after her first runny nose. She is way better today, just more clingy than normal. Crazy outfit, crazy hair--we can't all look perfect when we don't feel good :)

She was MESMERIZED by herself. I was watching a video or her on the computer and she couldn't look away. It was a video of Quinn laughing and screaming. When she would scream in the video she would smile. Ha

New Bike

When Quinn got her first tooth, her sweet Aunt Julie sent her her first little bike. We put it together today and she loved it! Dave pushed her around our empty bonus room and I got a bunch of great photos of her smiling and having a ball. Well...somehow we lost the pictures during the downloading process. I wanted to put a picture of her up on the blog, so I insisted we try to recreate the picture. Unfortunately it was bedtime and she wasn't as excited about it this time around. I know it's kind of hard to see her face, but it is quite hilarious. (click on pic to see bigger)

Basket of toys

Quinn learned to dump out her basket of toys. Funny how the basket is much more fun than the toys!

Stress Relief

I needed some stress relief while Quinn was learning how to fall asleep by herself...so I made a quilt! Here she is trying it out. She sure loves the ties.

Labor Day Weekend in Blackfoot

Dave and I decided to brave the car ride with Quinn to go to Blackfoot for the holiday weekend. Chris and Sarah were coming up from Reno so we felt we couldn't pass it up!
