Sunday walk and shameless plug

We went to this little pond/fountain yesterday to explore. It's right behind Quinn's new school-- which is about a half mile from our house. (Yes-- those are some fine mansions over there. That is NOT our neighborhood. But a nice place to live right by or take a run through) :)
(Don't be jealous of my toned arms....)
There were some cute ducks to feed. (thank goodness I had a couple baggies of goldfish/pretzels in the van)

Veda didn't really want to share her baggie of snacks and would get really mad if we tried to take a few out of her bag to feed to the ducks. She's a little young to understand sharing. But at least she looked cute with her outfit/necklace on.
She got to run down a hill for the first time. She did surprisingly well.
So this picture shows Quinn's school in the background. Yes-- it's huge.
So here's a shameless plug for something that will only benefit me if you join.. haha... Have you ever heard of Fab.com? It's pretty awesome. They send you emails everyday. Of sweet deals on awesome stuff. It's pretty designer-ish cool stuff. But we end up ordering a lot from them. I've gotten jewelry, t-shirts, Melissa and Doug toys, wallets, and art prints. (that's been the latest thing. I'll take pictures of the art once we get it...). But if you sign up using this link: http://fab.com/pna7xn then I get credits or money or something. So if you want to get awesome emails everyday, sign up.

our week in pictures

Here's a catch up on our week. In pictures.

We had a good but busy week. Veda has been sick- and unfortunately the other kids are coming down with it too. ONE of these nights all three of them will sleep well... and I will too :)

I LOVE THIS BABY. Holy cow... like I really love this baby. She is sweet and darling and cute and snuggly and funny and awesome.
We went back to the awesome park that's by our house. Me and Vede hanging out in the sandbox under the canopy.
Hendrix playing drums at the park.
We had a little 'lemonade stand,' but with water. Good thing it was water. Veda was hilarious. Quinn and I would pour her little bit. Veda would pretend to take a sip. Then dump the rest out on her feet. Repeated 20 times.
But how could we refuse our cutest customer... even if she wasted it :)
Wow... give Hendrix a hose and free range of the backyard and you have two things:
a very entertained and happy little boy for two hours
a very muddy, sandy, wet, and overwatered garden, grass, patio, and sandbox
Quinn borrowed my phone to take some pictures. I won't share them all. Unless some of you want to see 40 pictures of the floor? This one was cute though.
And this one is classic. Me-- taking something out of Veda's mouth that she had found on the floor. Something I do often. I'm so glad Quinn took a picture of it so I could always remember all the times I pull something out of Veda's mouth that she shouldn't be eating.

wishes

Things are fine, but I find myself making a lot of wishes lately...

I wish that unloading the dishwasher and sweeping my kitchen floor weren't chores I had to do every day. I don't mind doing some housework. But I really hate staying on top of the cleanliness of my kitchen. As soon as I get it cleaned up after a meal, it's time for the next. And don't get me started on this house's kitchen. I miss my old kitchen a LOT.

I wish I could cut my own hair. I'm having to find someone new to cut my hair. And as you all probably know-- that causes me stress.

I wish I didn't have to remind my kids all day to be the angels that I know they are. I say these things all day long:
Please don't growl at your sister
Please don't slam the doors!
Please don't make such a humungous mess on the couch with your crackers
Please share with Veda
Please don't knock Veda over
Please don't slam that door
Please stop asking me for juice, you know the answer is no
Please don't play your imaginary guitar so incredibly loud while we are sitting in church, or the grocery store, or while your sisters are both already crying
(I know I have good kids... but boy do I remind them about stuff all.... day... long)

I wish that my allergies weren't so bad. If you were ever curious if allergies could kill you, I'll let you know. I think I might be close to death. (Right this moment I'm fine, but it's because I didn't go outside at all yesterday. We are headed to the park this morning... I might be passed away by this evening).

I wish that our insurance wasn't going up so much. I've spent days shopping around for new car and health insurance. Holy toledo... it's all costing a lot more here.

I wish that I could help my kids adjust to the move. I love them and try to be as understanding as possible, but it's just hard to see them struggle with something because of the move. We are having some regression with Quinn. I knew she would have a harder time than the other kids, but it's hard to see it happen. She has her kindergarten evaluation this afternoon. Cross your fingers that she talks to the teacher.

And while we're wishing... I wish I had a million dollars. I would fly my mom and sister here for a week. Plus do other stuff... since two plane tickets don't cost 1 million dollars. :)

Big stack o' vegetables

That big stack on his plate? Zucchini. We made him share a few with the rest of us, but he ended up eating almost all of what you see on his plate! I love that he loves his veggies :)

Necklace

I love that Veda has worn this necklace for two straight days. (except during naps, of course) She refuses to leave pigtails in, yet will wear and not rip off a necklace. Cuteness.

Boredom buster

Imagine the whiniest voice that only a five year old can produce. Quinn comes up to me and says:
"mommmm.... I'm bored.... Can I vacuum?"

Ha ha... Heck yes. Get to work.

Sunday walk

Look at this cute daddy and all his kids!!

Georgetown

We went to this cute little town just north of us today- Georgetown.

 Here's what we did:

- went to this adorable little toy store. It was filled with all German (and expensive) super cool toys.
- ate at Monument Cafe. Super good food. It's all local and organic and real food. It was really good. They have this garden right outside their restaurant that you can walk through.
- got cupcakes from Galaxy Bakery. It's been on a show we watched on Netflix, so we had to try it.
- went to a park where the kids ran and ran for 2 miles. :)
(ha... I might have taken a few bites of the orange one before I decided to take a picture) :)

We packed our day- but it was so fun! Everything is new to us here, so it makes Saturday family days exciting :)

playroom

Here's the 'playroom' in the new house. (those frames will someday be filled with something great)
We were spoiled by having such a huge bonus room in the old house... now we have to keep all 1,000,000 of the kid's toys in the room right when you walk in the front door. And let's face it-- this room doesn't always look like this :)

awesomest park ever

We went to the coolest park ever today. It is super close to our house too. It has this whole mini- village area. A fire station, grocery store, mechanic, library, house, etc... with working street lights. It's so fun!!

It also has a HUGE sand area that my kids loved.

Look at those cute baby feet in the sand :)
They even had this musical instrument part. Guess who liked it?
And another CRAZY thing that I found out today. My new friend here- her name is Jessica. She lives down the street from us. She has three kids. Two girls and a boy (that just so happen to be the same ages as my kids). Anyway-- she was on Deal or No Deal. HERE'S the clip. She's cute, huh? That makes me kinda famous since she's kinda famous and we're kinda friends now :)

reading chair

I love that my girls love to sit in this chair and read books together. The cuteness is undeniable. I should take a picture of the whole 'playroom' so you can see the whole thing... but at least you can see the chair. It was a steal of a find at crate&barrel outlet and super comfy.

Fun.

This little boy definitely has some 'rock' in his blood.

mantle

Don't ask me why our new house as a fireplace. I can't see us using it. Like ever. But it's there, and for the first time in my life I have a mantle to decorate. Too bad the clothes in our family picture don't match... shoot.

picture catch up!!

wowee do I have a lot of pictures to catch up on!!!
World's Most Comfortable Couches: (pretty cool looking too, I think)
Eating at Jason's Deli. Probably my favorite place I've eaten in Austin so far. (Veda obviously likes it too-- Quinn too) :)
Hendrix pushing the girls around in the stroller in the outlet mall by our house:
Veda discovering there was something inside the Easter egg:
The eggs matched her skirt!! I didn't even plan that.
Hendrix thought the egg hunt was pretty awesome. Too bad I only bought one package of eggs-- it was not enough. And the only thing I put in them were jelly beans that my kids didn't really end up liking. The Easter bunny will do better next year.
The rose bush in our backyard:
Hendrix has a new spot to line up cars... ha ha.
The other day we were playing outside and we saw a rollie pollie on the patio. Quinn, Hendrix and I were all looking at it and Veda came right over and picked it up.
Then squished it between her fingers, ripped it in half, and showed it to Quinn.
The kids and I playing at a park and having a picnic. And yes-- that's IKEA you see in the background.
The kids LOVE to play in the sandbox.
The girls reading books in the new playroom chair:
We went to Round Rock Donuts yesterday. I think it's kinda famous. And it should be-- AMAZING donuts.

After donuts we went and walked around the 'Domain.' It's a big outdoor mall. The kids had fun.
Phew-- I'm all caught up on pictures. :)
Hendrix is doing well. He's not 100%, but he's doing a lot better. Today was the last day of steroids- THANK GOODNESS. I don't know if I could have done another day. He has been CRAZY.
We went to our new ward today. Holy cow were they welcoming!! It was no 'Kuna 2nd ward,' but we are happy that everyone seemed so nice. Lots of young families. Someone even stopped over this afternoon to say hi. Plus there is someone on my street in the ward.
