the doll

I think I said to Quinn "let's play with the blocks on the table so Hendrix doesn't get them." but wait... he can totally reach now.

just kneeling there... seeing what Quinn was up to.

then he stood up. He can get up just fine, the problem is that he has no concept of holding on yet... so as soon as he's standing up I have to be right behind him because he just randomly lets himself fall backwards. (the reason I wanted the hard wooden blocks on the table and not underneath him when he falls)

and oh... I finished her. Dave was at "Ignite Boise" tonight, so I put the kids to bed at 6 (Seriously...) and sewed her up. She was not the easiest project I've ever done, but lots of fun. If you have a girl-- you should make her one. look how cute!!

and while the knee-highs are adorable, they were a little tricky. and also--if you make her-- I made her face/legs/arms out of fleece, which seemed much more cuddly than the canvas they suggested. It worked fine, just had to sew the face instead of paint it. Now let's see if I can wait until Christmas to hand her over :)

and i'm considering naming her before I give her to Quinn. Quinn has had a tendency to come up with REALLY wacky names lately. The dolls that I have named, have stayed named, but her 'friends' that aren't named--she calls them Taco, Daco, Tikki, Doltha, or Pantha. Have any good name suggestions??

Raspberries anyone?

sewing

I've been sewing a lot and not taking pictures... sorry. I don't usually like to post pictures of things I'm giving as gifts.... but why not? Here are two changing pads I made this week.

I decided that it would be fun to make both of my kids a homemade gift for Christmas. Don't die because of the cuteness of what I decided to make. I'm making this car holder for Hendrix

and I'm making Quinn one of these dolls for Quinn.

Now let's see if I can get them both done before Christmas. wait... of course I can!! I'm punctual, remember? :)

ball pit tent

I told Quinn if she helped me clean up the bonus room we could bust out the ball pit tent. She is a great cleaner-upper so she happily obliged. Then she was in it for about 5 minutes before she was back to reading books. Hendrix liked it though!

sticking out his tongue in the ball pit

this printer is quite possibly his 2nd favorite toy in the entire house.

This green stool is probably #3 for him--although you can't tell by the look on his face. but his sweet sister is I'm sure saying to him "It's okay little buddy!!"

Owen's blessing day

Jason and Christy blessed baby Owen on Sunday. I love how everyone in the middle of this picture is wearing black...then there's Dave on the left--wearing grey and holding a green baby...sorry, Christy, I swear I tried to grab Hendrix from Dave!!

After church we decided to hang out at a park for a little while. We were obviously prepared... we were all there in our Sunday best. The kids didn't care--they had a ball! It was such a beautiful day too! (good thing, since I didn't bring anyone a coat either)

ha... I love this picture of Emery on the slide.

Quinn and Emery playing in a pile of leaves. (that thier dad's lovingly collected for them in their Sunday clothes)

hendrix's tongue

hendrix has been sticking his tongue out ALL THE TIME. it's quite funny to me...I caught some on camera.

His favorite...climbing on top of a box and sticking his tongue out at the same time

crawling with his tongue out

you can almost see his new pearly white if you look close enough. on the bottom on the left front. so cute :) and i'm fairly certain that's why his tongue is out all the time--he can feel it down there.

quinn trying out hendrix's silly face

This has been quinn's perch the last few days. book reading is a constant for her--but she goes through kicks where it is THE ONLY THING she'll do. the last few days have been one of those kicks.

making faces

me and Quinn making faces together.

Hollie's shower!

i threw a baby shower for my friend, Hollie yesterday. I did a HORRIBLE job of taking pictures during the shower. here are the few pictures that i took before.
diaper wreath:

dave took this picture...it's great :) me and the cups:

the cute pom poms i made for decoration. thanks martha, megan, and jill for the idea!

the pom poms were way cute, but a pain in the butt to get them to stay up. dave and i both took a few attempts at taping them to the ceiling

i thought my kids looked so cute this morning since they both happened to be in monkey pj's. but quinn wouldn't sit by her brother for a picture....

these are actually hand-me-down pajamas from our friend Luke. All of you Boise readers probably heard about Luke this week. He was in a horrible accident and didn't make it. We'll miss that sweet boy!

clothes?

I'm aware this is getting ridiculous. I need to put clothes on my kids. Who needs clothes when you have pink glasses?

By-the-way when she wears these glasses she is being a teacher--just like Grandpa Stevens. Who, according to Quinn teaches kids to "count to 85." and no--I don't know how she comes up with these things.

videos of the kids

hendrix pulling up. he gets so excited...it's great :)

Quinn doing the 'puppet master' from yo gabba gabba. the best part is her foot work at the end--when she's 'going crazy'

quinn is hil-ar-i-ous

Quinn singing her abc's. It's a rotten day, so I guess the best thing to do is to remember to smile. This little girl makes me smile.

the conversation we had right before I put her down for her 'nap.'

Me: Hey, Quinn, turn on your noisy (her sound machine)
Quinn: Yes Officer!
Me: What? haha...
Quinn: hehe...I'm just being a rhino

hendrix climbing

look what hendrix can do. he is searching all day for anything he can climb up on.

it results in many close calls....if you notice the red welt on his forehead.

it doesn't discourage him from trying though...he just gets right back at it.

and look how sad--he can now reach the top of the coffee table. now where am i going to hide the choking hazards??
