countdown presents

I don't know how many of you remember this bad boy that I made last Christmas:

So I have MANY days this month to fill up pockets with little gifts and treats. I guess I'm a sucker for homemade toys, because here are a few of the things that the kids have gotten.

balls!! Hendrix's has a little jingle bell inside his... he loves it :)

I made Quinn these Christmas shirts. Not perfect, but since she'll only wear them a total of three times they are good enough!!

felt Mr. Potato Head. I guess I should have taken more photos of this to show you how it works. All the pieces velcro onto the potato. I used THIS example. Except instead of making a pocket on the back of him, I just did a simple draw string bag to store the whole thing in, plus the accessories.

She hasn't gotten the potato head yet... but she's also gotten a handful of other things: stickers, tootsie rolls, etc. She checks the pockets of the countdown at least 5 times a day, even though she only gets one thing. (I wonder who she gets that from??!!) I also wrapped up all of her Christmas books and she gets to open one each day. I don't have 25 Christmas books though, so in another week she might be a little disappointed when she doesn't get a book that day... but come on, I can only do so much :)
