Favorite things lately

Time for another Favorite Things post!!!
I feel kind of like Oprah. Except minus the tv show and magazine and the zillion dollars. And I'm not giving you each one of these things. But I wish I was.

Reusable bags from IKEA.
I bought one of these babies a month ago and have used it 100,000 times. It is nice and big once you open it up-- then it fits back into it's own little pocket. It has come in handy a lot now that the city of Austin doesn't offer plastic bags when you shop anymore. And I feel like I'm saving the world one shopping trip at a time. I only had one bag, so we went back to IKEA this week and bought a few more (they are only 79 cents. And come in all of these beautiful colors)

Aden + Anis blankets.
These are generally for newborns since they are a 'swaddle' blanket, but I just got them for Veda who is two. Veda insists on sleeping with 4 blankets! And we live in Texas. So when I was with Julie a couple weeks ago I saw how awesome her swaddle blankets were. And wouldn't you know it-- she went and bought some for Veda!! They are super lightweight and cute and large enough to cover her toes when she's laying down in bed.

Plum Amazins.
Have any of you tried these? They are just prunes cut up. Which is handy because I have to cut prunes for my kids so they eat them slower and don't choke. They are a little bit drier than big prunes (in a good way). It makes them more of a raisin texture, but they taste way better than raisins.

Aquage.
I have tried a LOT of different kinds of shampoo in my life. And I ALWAYS go back to Paul Mitchell Shampoo One with Instant Moisture Conditioner. It has always just been the very best thing for my hair. Then I tried this Aquage Silkening Shampoo and Conditioner. I can't say enough good things. I love the way it feels on my hair, it smells great, my hair is moisturized but not weighed down or greasy. LOVE it.

Taylor Swift's RED.
What am I 15?? Maybe. It's a great album.

love those aden and anais swaddle blankets! they are so great for the summer and babes who need covering! I love nursing with them now because I get SO HOT with that tiny body next to me. love.

I need to try those tiny prunes! awesome idea. also, the shampoo, because I'm always on the lookout for a good one!

I'm glad you mentioned the bags, because Jake and I were just having this conversation on the way home from Canada yesterday. Everywhere up there basically makes you pay for bags if you want plastic, and some cities don't even offer bags anyway. I think it's great! We couldn't think of anywhere we knew in the states that did that, so now I know of at least one city! ha.

I love these posts! I, too swear by the aden & anais blankets. I use them for swaddling, but I never thought of them for the older kids. Good idea!
