Half Birthday for Veda

I can't even believe that Veda is 18 months old. It's sad. So to counteract the sadness, we put up some 1/2 birthday decorations.
Then there was nursery. If you know me at all, you know that I do NOT LOOK FORWARD TO SENDING MY KIDS TO NURSERY. (Quinn might still be damaged from my unwillingness to let go.) So I almost didn't send Veda yesterday. I thought I'd hang onto her one more week. But I sucked it up and brought her in- knowing full well that if she cried she was coming back with me.
But she did awesome. Seemed thrilled that I was letting her sit in a cute little chair and color and play with play doh. I don't even think she bit anyone. And no tears from her that I know of-- just my own tears. Laugh all you want-- but it took some courage to leave her in that room with those crying germy, coughing kids.

And yes- after church we had a party. Because sometimes I like to throw half birthday parties. Here's another. And oh look- one more. My mom thinks I just need an excuse to make and eat cake. She's not totally wrong :)

Veda was a big help with licking the beaters for the frosting.
And wearing the cupcake stand as a hat.
We even had two other families over to help us sing "Happy Half Birthday." Here are all the darling kids.
She had been asking for a cupcake all day. Then when I gave her one she just gave it a stare-down.
Happy 18 months to my baby girl. You are the sunshine in our lives. Love you.

She is the sunshine in my life too! I'm proud of you too, Am, that you let Veda go to nursery. You sure have been having milestones lately- kindergarten, soccer and nursery! It was high time for cake!!

You'll be happy to know I kept my sniffling babies at home this sunday. But I'm excited that Amelia and Veda will be in nursery together!

I'm glad she went so easily. I wish. Scarlett is JUST coming around, six months later. lol. And she looks so big and grown up sitting on that little chair!

I love your half birthdays. Maybe one day I'll get to attend another one.
