We went to a fun Halloween party yesterday afternoon. My friend had made all of this 'Halloween' themed food, it was so cute.

sneak peak of halloween

i haven't uploaded the pictures from my camera yet, but Dave put this on his Twitter, so I stole it. our cute little skeleton. He got the hang of trick-or-treating pretty fast. Going right up to the candy bowls and helping himself-- even to seconds. Atta boy.

Quinn was V.I.P. again today. (this happens once a month). I'm sure the excitement will wear off in a few more months, but she has been SO excited.

Halloween carnival

my next door neighbor throws a Halloween carnival every year for kiddos. Here's Quinn all dressed up

quinn played for 20 minutes before she had her tragedy.

quinn was chasing Hendrix down the sidewalk and fell. she ripped holes in both knees (of her brand new tights...) and scraped one knee pretty good. plus she was crying so hard that she peed her pants. the party was over for her.

unfortunately it started raining :(

trick or treat bag

I made Quinn a trick-or-treat bag to match her costume (She's going to be a ballerina). The bag turned out cute, but photographed not so cute. The pinks match in real life, just not in the photo. So just trust me :) I wanted it to be dainty, and probably should have used white fabric, but I had the pink polka dot and it matched her outfit, so I used it anyway. And I probably spent WAY too long on this considering it's a TRICK-OR-TREAT bag.

she's going to be one cute little ballerina. I can't wait to see her in the whole outfit. we have a party tomorrow that she'll dress up for, so I'll take some pictures.

sewing therapy

I've been sewing!!! Sometimes I find joy in mass producing things, and sewing is definitely something I do when I need to feel better. It was a tough week. One of my dear friends lost her baby this week. Which it's maybe a little ironic that I still spent the week sewing mainly baby items.
I like to keep some baby gifts on hand and my stock was getting low. Here are some changing pads

Some binky clips. I used THIS tutorial. Although I had to modify the measurements.. I don't know why.

a rice bag I made my friend Amy for her birthday. This has been my go-to present this year. My friend Audra made me one a few years ago and I've LOVED it.


and some burp rags. I made a few more sets... but I already put some in the baby's closet. I think baby V or baby H will need some new ones :)

Hendrix has been into wearing silly things lately. Too small of hoodies (with the hood up, of course), Quinn's slippers, and now this apron/hat/oven mitt combo. And don't worry, I went and got him some 'boy' slippers today since he can't seem to live without slippers on his feet lately.



oh how I love those chubby baby arms and hands.
