rental house
are you guys sick of my vacation pictures yet?? i'm almost done, I promise. we rented a house is Tualitin-- which was probably 30 minutes from downtown Portland. The house was right on a river-- which was nice. It was kind of secluded, which made it seem like we were staying at a cabin or something, yet it was pretty close to everything we wanted to do.
This is the view from the deck. If you look closely, you can Fritz on the dock
this is the house. it wasn't huge, but big enough for our large group. Fritz and Jonathan slept on sofa sleepers, but the rest of us got a room. (Quinn shared with my mom and dad-- and as luck would have it, NEVER got up to go potty in the middle of the night). My biggest complaint about the house is that the water smelled like sulfur. Kinda bad too.
here we are hanging out one night. Sleep was an issue for Veda and Hendrix, and they woke each other up a lot. Veda was up late this night because she wasn't going to sleep easily, and Hendrix was the harder one to get to sleep and stay asleep.
Hanging out in the purple kitchen enjoying Voo Doo Doughnuts.
the deck was pretty awesome. We spent time eating and hanging out on the deck. The weather was PERFECT the whole time we were there. We couldn't have asked for better weather. And NO mosquitos. awesome. i need to move there.
Here's my mom slaving away in the kitchen. She made us lots of yummy food and cleaned up more than her share. thanks mom :)
and here's part of the gang enjoying some of her crepes for breakfast one morning.
my kids were on idaho time most of the week-- which meant that they were getting up about 4-4:30 local time. one morning I took the kids for a walk-- because what else do you do that early in the morning? it was maybe 6 am... and veda had just gone done for her first NAP.
and a make-up-less self portrait :)
it was a HARD walk too--- it was really hilly around the rental house. pushing a double stroller up STEEP hills was kinda hard. but invigorating :)
