my little buddy

Radom thoughts from a cute little boy:

Me-- pointing to a huge mosquito on the screen of the window: "Hendrix--- come look at this big bug!"
Hendrix: "No like that big bug."
Me: "Why not?"
Hendrix: touching his tongue "Cuz it's too spicy in my mouth."
(he uses the word spicy for many things: sour, salty, yucky)

I sure love my little guy. He is so cute and sweet and funny. He's growing up and talking so well.

Lighten Up:
the root of being uptight is our unwillingness to accept life as being different, in any way, from our expectations.

Redefine a "meaningful" accomplishment
I think of my most meaningful accomplishments as stemming from inside myself: Was I kind to myself and others? Did I overreact to a challenge, or was I calm and collected? Am I happy? Did I hold onto anger or was I able to let go and move on? Was I too stubborn? Did I forgive?" These questions, and others like them, remind us that the true measure of our success comes from not what we do, but from who we are and how much love we have in our hearts."
(that whole chapter was comparing worldly accomplishments-- like awards and praise, as opposed to meaningful accomplishments like being kind and happy.)

That picture is so cute of you two. Was it a snapshot from the photo shoot?

I also missed the book title. I have way too many other books to read, but I'm just curious. . .
